Customer Need
After identifying the people we need to promote our product to, we should then consider what they need before we design our real system. In most cases, business need to gather customer raw data using some statistic methods such as interview, focus group, questionnaire and observing. Except for questionnaire which requires a large amount of participants, we should conduct research on customers using the other three methods.
Interview is the easiest way out of the three methods. It does not require too much time but the result may vary a lot in our industry because different restaurant may have unique business process for their business and therefore we should consider conducting the focus group and observing. Since our goal is to provide service and product to restaurants nationwide and there are variability in different locations.   We have to gather data from all major areas which is may be costly as well.
| Number# | Need statement | Importance |
| 1 | peak time shifts is handled by the system | 5 |
| 2 | The system tracks employee’s clock in time | 2 |
| 3 | The system generate employee performance based on the clock in record | 3 |
| 4 | Issues and problems can be solved by customer services | 4 |
| 5 | The instruction guide gives customer an idea on how to use the system | 4 |
| 6 | Information is shared on multiple platforms | 3 |
| 7 | Price is reasonable | 5 |
| 8 | Customer/technical service available | 4 |
The important customer needs are gathered and solutions are also generated for the customer to review. After sending them the new survey with the solutions to their concerns, we can gather second round customer feedback and come up with additional solutions to their needs. This is an unstoppable process that we should continually monitor the customer’s requirements on our system and develop necessary tools and add-ons to make the system more useful to the customers.
